A camping we will go, a camping we will go, rain or shine.....a camping we will go!!! All week long we planned and we packed for our camping trip on Friday. As the week went on there came to be a slight chance for rain. The chance for rain was nothing like last weekend (when it really didn't rain at all), so kept planning our trip. Friday night as we headed out it started sprinkling a small amount. Greg and I looked at each other and just smiled, hoping that the sprinkles would not turn into anything more. The further we drove, the darker the clouds got and the harder the rain fell. We were hoping the storm would be short lived. When we got to the campground we could tell there was not going to be any lightening up of the rain for quite some time, so the kids played in the rain while we got the camper all set up. By the time we got inside we were all pretty wet, but were able to laugh about it!
We soon found out that the small, very small chance of rain and "spotted showers" turned out to be 14 hours of hard rain! But we did enjoy our first camping trip in our new camper as a family of 4. It is a trip we will NEVER forget! The kids had a ball, as did Mom and Dad!
Trying smores. Believe it or not neither kid was really a big fan. Give them time, I am sure they will come around!
Saturday afternoon there was a huge fun filled family day "Healing the Heartland Festival" in remembrance of the horrible flood that flooded our city exactly one year ago. We got to see David Phelps and the Barlow Girls in concert! It was all free and so much fun! It was nice to see our community come together to celebrate with one another after a very hard year of rebuilding.

I LOVE Barlow girls! How fun! It looks like you had a great time camping and it's so funny cause Dan and I just talked tonight about how we would like to get a camper like that... one of these days. I can't get over how cute your kids are. Adorable!
